UK Flight: Nigerians Have Been Paying N15m To N17m For Business Class For The Past Two Years -Onyema

The Chairman of Air Peace, Mr Allen Onyema has alleged that Nigerians have been paying over 15 million naira to 17 million to board Business class to the United Kingdom for the past two years. He stated that with the 60% slash of flight fees by Air Peace to London, other foreign airlines have reduced their fees as well.

He queried the sudden substantial price difference by the foreign airlines after allowing Nigerians to overpay for their services over the years. He highlighted that economy class to UK which was estimated to be over 5 million naira has been slashed to 2 million naira after Air Peace was cleared through the Federal Ministry of Aviation that they could begin direct flight operations to London

He said in an interview with TVC, ”What we have done in the last few days is to prove to this country that we need to support our own. We started the economy with 1.2 million and then business class is 4 million. For the past two years, Nigerians have been paying N15M to N17M for Business Class to the UK.

Immediately Air Peace announced 4 million, and within 24 hours, their business class came town to 5 million. So they could charge 5 million, why are they taking 15 million from my country’s men and women? Why are they taking 5 million and 6 million for economy class? So they could come down to 1.9 million or 2 million. And this is what we keep on telling the people of Nigeria, you need to support Indigenous Investments, that’s the only way we can save this country.”
