Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has disclosed why he turned down an invitation from an African head of state seeking divine healing for an undisclosed illness.

According to him, the head of state had tried various medical interventions to no avail and was advised to seek prayers from him, having heard testimonies about his healing ministry. …CONTINUE READING

How Adeboye Is Making His Redeemed Christian Church Irredeemable

The clergyman stated that the politician called one of his pastors and demanded that he (Adeboye) pay a visit. However, he declined because he prioritised God more than a fellow human.

Adeboye disclosed this during his sermon at the July Holy Ghost service on Friday evening at the Redemption City of God, Mowe area of Ogun State.

He said, “I remember the case of one head of state somewhere in Africa who had a problem that no doctor could handle, and somehow he heard that there is a man of God who can heal him. So, he called our pastor in the capital of his country and said, ” Send for your General Overseer.”

“The pastor phoned and delivered the message, but I said tell the excellency that I’m very busy (I didn’t want to explain that there is one excellency that is more excellent than the other), but I’m sorry I can’t come”, the cleric said.

Adeboye added that he instructed his pastor to inform the head of state that his schedule was booked a year in advance.

“I think when the problem reached a stage, he (head of state) changed his mind, and the very day he got on this campground, God solved the problem,” Adeboye said.

Speaking further, he warned his members against anger, describing it as temporary madness.

The clergyman stated that no number of insults would provoke him.

He disclosed that he has been the target of numerous verbal attacks, but stated that no amount of criticism would push him to anger.

He subsequently urged his members to remain calm even when provoked, stating that anger can destroy destinies.

According to him, “Anger is temporary madness. You don’t want to be mad. Some people will do some things that will cause you to be angry, but don’t fall into their trap.

“One of the easiest ways to have your destiny destroyed is to get angry. There are many of you who have been wondering…a lot of people have been saying whatever they want all kinds of nonsense about me and they are waiting for me to get angry one day.

“That is what they are planning, but I’m going to reach my goal.”
