Why Many People Are Rushing To Makagi To Live

Have you heard about a town called Makogi better known as Magboro extension, under Obafemi Owode Local Government in Ogun State? Let’s tell you about this juicy location where men and women of caliber now go to buy land and build houses of their choice.

This community is relatively new when you talk about development. Makogi is just 20 minutes drive from Alausa-Ikeja. Despite the proximity of Makogi to Lagos, land/houses are relatively cheap there.

We will tell you everything you need to know about this secluded community where a lot of big people are seriously rushing to buy property.

For those going to Makogi for the first time: if you are coming from Berger in Lagos, when you get to Mountain of Fire Prayer City on the left side of the road. Actually, two routes link Makogi to Magboro. You either take inside Magoro and drive straight down and that is about 7 minutes drive or less, from Magboro. Another route that is faster is through MFM Prayer City. That road is tarred and it’s just 5 minutes to Makogi.

In Magoki, there are several housing estates where the top and mighty now buy land. Victory Estate, Estate Avenue, Ishola Olatinka Estate, etc. Some of these estates are well-gated and secured.

WHAT IS THE ATTRACTION OF THE PLACE?
First, before the Makogi town is Moutain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, Prayer City Camp.

MFM owns a large expanse of land along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway called Prayer City, located close to the international camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Among the structures located within the camp is an auditorium capable of holding 100,000 members during special occasions.

In MFM camp, there is no land available for sale as demand for housing is increasing by the day and the little ones available are highly expensive making Makogi, a good alternative and it which is just 5 minutes of less from the camp.

Do you also know that, a lot of big and popular people visit MFM Prayers City almost every week for prayers. These people at times run into thousands and they need decent places to sleep.

Some of these popular Nigerians buy houses there to live. While some are buying land to develop.

Another thing that makes Makogi bubble and a destination hub for many is the MFM University. Mountain Top University is a private university in Makogi, Ogun State, Nigeria, founded in 2015. It was founded by Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, a Pentecostal Christian denomination. The university was founded by Dr. D.K. Olukoya, the founder and General Overseer of MFM Ministries worldwide.

Last week, City People’s Property Reporter, ISAAC ABIMBADE,  took a tour of the community and we were mavelled by the level of developments going on in the commumity.

Some of the estates we visited are well-gated and the security of each estate was top-notch.

If you aren’t a resident, it will be hard to get through some housing estate there. Majorly, most of the houses there are modern structures, while some are luxury. No wonder it is called Magboro extension but the beauty of it is that, some of the housing estates in Makogi are top class and are well structured to compete with the standard of most top housing estates in Lagos.

SECURITY IN MAKOGI
The security in Makogi, is another attraction to the area. Though, the community had issue of insecurity in the past but that has been resolved and the place is always peaceful since the Covid19 era.

About 3 years back, the Makogi community, Ogun State handed over a storey building to the Nigeria Police to be used as a police station. This had to be done in order to tackle the insecurity plaquing the community then.

The one-storey building which comprises of about six offices and two cells – for male and female inmates was reportedly completed within 70 days and the cost was put at about N15million during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The local vigilante are also deployed in many areas to help the Nigerian Police Force.

PROPERTIES ARE RELATIVELY CHEAP
We can categorically tell you that to buy land, house and rent house are relatively cheap in this community. There are two categories of property; we were showed some distressed houses for sale. From this category you can get a decent 3 bedroom bungalow for 17 million, averagely.

While some houses that fall under another category cost more. Some distressed land is sold for 4 million and less in Makogi,  while we also have some that cost higher. It depend on how lucky you are.

The house rent in this community is also cheap compare to other places. A decent 2-bedroom flat is #350,000 or a bit higher in Makogi. Maybe this is another reason why more and more people are tropping to the community to live.
