With their peculiar genii, they liven up industry; the exploits they dare, burnish the business world even as they dull the pointed edges of the cut-throat blades of commerce.

There is no gainsaying that Femi Otedola and Aliko Dangote’s friendship is an allegory. It becomes a bond in which the characters and events are to be understood as representing other things and symbolically expressing a deeper, often spiritual, moral, or political meaning

Little wonder the Chairman of Forte Oil, treated his friend, the founder and CEO of Dangote Group, with utmost love and respect. Femi, the billionaire businessman, is hosted the Africa’s richest billionaire, Aliko, last night, Sunday for his 60th birthday. The high-octane party took place in Femi’s mansion in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Guests and dignitaries trooped to Femi’s abode the way snowflakes trickle down from heaven above. They kept it casual and simple with élan, just the way the host wanted them to appear. The event was indeed a memorable one; business associates, friends and family members of the oil magnate deserted the humdrum of their daily lives to celebrate with one of their own.

The celebrant’s heart of course was full of enchanting song. It pulsated pleasantly at the outward show of care and zealous love he encountered by the guests. He could not help but lose the breath in his lungs momentarily.

Aliko is indeed a true man of his people. The business guru occupies a soft spot in the hearts of his most trusted business and political associates. Thus his 60th birthday manifested as a worthy testament to his enduring popularity and acclaim.

The elaborate event, which paraded top businessmen, politicians, society big wigs and captains of industry had the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former governor of Lagos, Babatunde Fashola, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Hon. Interestingly, however, as the woofers belted out familiar, evergreen tunes, their hair stood on end and they tipped over in merriment – their joy spilling from their souls into the air and sky high. Enthralled, the guests moved in gaiety, tap dancing and swaying to the beat as if they meant to enact a madhouse jamboree with the tenacity and agility of veteran dance and music buffs.
