Miss Colombia seems to be stunned when she was announced the winner of the miss universe 2015 out of more than 70 contestants. Little did she know that her joy was only for a moment as the host returned to apologise for naming the wrong woman as the winner.

In the recently concluded miss universe beauty pageant, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo from Colombia had already been crowned and was standing on stage receiving cheers from the audience when the mortified host returned to announce the error.

Just as Ariadna Gutierrez was blowing kisses and waving to her adoring fans, she was informed on live television, that it was actually Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo who was meant to be wearing the crown.

“OK, folks, um, I have to apologise,” he said, walking back on stage while Arevalo was proudly waving to fans, holding the winner’s bouquet and wearing the Miss Universe sash. “The first runner-up is Colombia,” he went on, “Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines.”

For a few awkward moments the two women stood side by side, in front of audience of millions from around the world, before the host clarified that he read the card naming the winner and runner-up in the wrong order.

“I will take responsibility for this, it was my mistake,” he told the crowd. “It’s on the card … horrible mistake, but I can show it to you right here,” he said, holding up the card.
“It is my mistake, but it’s still a great night.”

Fans immediately took to social media to react to the slipup, criticizing Harvey, expressing regret for Miss Colombia and praise for Pia.
