Osun 2026: Aregbesola’s Group Breaks Silence On Salaam’s Emergence As ADC Candidate

The Omoluabi Progressives, a group loyal to the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has clarified a rumour that the ADC has picked former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam as the party’s candidate for the August 08, 2026, election.

The clarification came amid a media report circulating online that Salaam was picked as the ADC gubernatorial candidate in a meeting in Lagos.

The spokesman for the group, Oluwaseun Abosede, said the meeting, which produced Salaam, was an internal arrangement between the Omoluabi Progressives and not that of the ADC in the state.

He said, “ADC is yet to pick its candidate. Omoluabi Progressives only had an internal arrangement within its fold.

“Until ADC comes together formally, no official statement is in order.”
