Contrary to fake news doing the rounds on the blogosphere about Martin Luther King Jnr.’s immediate family, Naomi Barbara King is the wife of the late activist’s uncle, AD King who died many years ago. The Capital findings revealed that Lauretta Onochie, the President’s Personal Assistant on new media had mistakenly referred to Barbara as wife of late MLK.
MLK’s wife is late but Naomi Barbara King is the head of the Luther King family and she takes decisions for the King family.
Some reports had also erroneously linked the iconic 86 year old Barbara with Erica Bennet. The two were on different delegations and only met in Abuja and were both delighted to have met coincidentally.
We also gathered that the trip was solely privately funded and had no input from the Nigerian government whatsoever.
The delegation felt so at home in Nigeria that they extended their stay as they enjoyed the country’s warmth and culture. They are thrilled to have visited Nigeria and met and honored President Muhammadu Buhari, a week before the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jnr.’s assassination on April 4, 1968.
President Buhari was honored particularly for his anti corruption crusade.
