2027 Election: Kwankwaso, Obi Set to Dump ADC; Next Party Reveals

Ahead of the 2027 elections, popular public commentator, Japheth Omojuwa, has claimed that Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano, “will move” with Peter Obi, former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, to another party.

In a post on Friday, May 1, on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, Omojuwa asserted that the 2027 presidential election will be a “three-horse race.”

According to the post on X, Omojuwa said:

“Kwankwaso will move with Obi to another party. Atiku and his guys will hold their own side. It’s a three-horse race again. Fun times.”

Insiders say former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is “fully aligned” with Obi and “moving in the same direction,” with both camps reportedly agreeing that “staying in ADC under these conditions is a risk we’re not willing to take.”

Multiple sources confirmed that the withdrawal process is already underway. Obi and Kwankwaso have “stepped back deliberately,” while discussions with NDC as alternative political platforms have moved beyond preliminary stages. “Alternative platform talks are not exploratory anymore, they’re advanced,” one source disclosed.
